What are ‘Nordic Crisps’?
Nordic Crisps are delicious, bite-sized toasted crispbread crackers made with natural ingredients, inspired by the traditional long sheets of Danish knækbrød (spelled knekkebrød in Norway and knäckebröd in Sweden). Crafted using wholesome seeds and organic flours, they offer the perfect crunch and deep, nutty flavor that shines when enjoyed fresh—just like traditional baked goods.
As part of a balanced lifestyle, Nordic Crisps are a versatile choice for breakfast, lunch, or snacking—delicious on their own or paired with your favorite toppings. They come in five flavors:
- Rye + Sea Salt
- Rye + Everything
- Multi-Seeds + Oregano
- Fennel + Onion
- Sumac + Thyme
Where did crispbread crackers originate?
Originally a staple food of Scandinavian countries, most variations were made with rye flour and were characterized as shelf-stable for long periods. Even today, they have remained a significant part of the Scandinavian diet, and they can be found in the pantry of most households.

Are Hungry Bird Eats products gluten-free?
Our Multi-Seed + Oregano, Fennel + Onion and Sumac + Thyme Nordic Crisp product lines are made with naturally gluten-free ingredients in our own nut-free facility. However, since we currently also make our traditional Rye + Sea Salt Nordic Crisps (using rye flour) in the same kitchen, we cannot currently certify that all products will be completely gluten-free for those with celiac and gluten-intolerance concerns. Note that we take steps to avoid gluten cross-contamination in the kitchen by thoroughly and carefully cleaning all our equipment before and after each use and physically distancing certain equipment to avoid gluten exposure where practical.
Are Hungry Bird Eats products vegan?
Yes! We do not use any animal products on our line of Nordic Crisps, and all of our ingredients are organic, which means that our products are GMO-free.
Are Hungry Bird Eats products allergy friendly?
The Nordic Crisp product lines are made without any of the following major allergens: egg, dairy, soy, peanuts, tree nuts or shellfish, however we do use sesame seeds in our products and our rye crisps contains gluten. We take great care to avoid contamination in our facility.
Are Hungry Bird Eats products kosher?
As a vegan product line, our Nordic Crisps do not include meat, dairy, or fish/eggs (pereve). Further since our kitchen space and equipment are dedicated to production of Nordic Crisp products, we do not store or expose our equipment to these products. Note that currently we have not obtained a kosher certification from a third party agency, but may seek to do so in the future.
How do I keep my crisps fresh?
Store them in an airtight container or a bag in a location that is dark, cool, and dry. Do not refrigerate. This will create moist.
We do not use artificial preservatives in our products, so our crisps are best consumed as soon as possible to experience the freshest taste. Over long periods of time the natural oils from the seeds and the extra virgin olive oil may start to turn rancid, so Nordic Crisps are the very best when they are fresh baked! We recommend enjoying these 180 days from production( about 6 months).
Are your crackers baked or fried?
Our crackers are baked - never fried!
How long does shipping take?
